Pier Paolo Bacciu is an agronomist with a large experience growing baby leaf and salad.
He is specialized in Food Safety, Environmental Management System and Quality Systems. He worked as Quality System Director at Cultiva, a fresh salad industry supplying UK retailers like Tesco, Sainsbury’s Supermarkets, Marks and Spencer.
Now is working as consultant helping the food companies to comply with the most demanding customer requirements and to give added value to the organizations through integrated system management, technological innovation and close collaboration with marketing .

Also he is working to develop a production technique that will remove both physical and micro biological contaminants from the supply chain and to increase shelf life.
A Pilot plant being constructed in Sardinia – 2 Ha.

  • I created, maintained, managed and audited many standards such as GlobalGAP, Tesco Nurture, Tesco Organic, F2F of M & S, Leaf Marque and for the food industry ISO 22000, IFS, BRC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22005, OHSAS 18001;
  • I managed the food safety and quality systems for more than 21 companies in Italy, Spain and USA.
  • I have worked as Director in Fattoria Cupino planning and starting up the farms facilities and developing the Good Agricultural Practices to manage the organic baby leaf / salad Farm ( 90 Ha and 20 Ha of greenhouses)
  • I created and managed the organic management system and the ICM (integrated crop management) of the farm Fattoria Cupino, improving the Rejection KPI from 11% to less than 4% in reference to British specifications.
  • I have worked as Quality Director of OP Valle Padana / Cultiva OP, managing and leading the Quality and Food Safety Team (about 30 million turnover).
  • I created in accordance with the client Waitrose, a special area of baby leaf crops for the development of new products for the UK market.
  • I create websites following the principles of the food marketing through the web.
  • I have worked on several projects in Spain, Italy and the United States bringing my experience and team spirit even in different cultural environments.
